Lightspire for plumbers and tradies

When you're under a sink and the phone rings out, the job goes to the next plumber on Google. Your agent answers every call, books the job into your calendar and sends you the details.

A day with Fraser

These examples use a made-up business, Northside Plumbing, and its agent, Fraser. Yours answers from your own services, prices and hours.

"My hot water's gone. Can someone come out today?"

Fraser offers the free times you have left today: "I can book a plumber for this afternoon at 2 or 4. Would either suit?" He takes the caller's name and number, reads the job back and books it in.

In your calendar: the hot water job, today at 2pm, with the caller's name and mobile. You get a booking email.

"How much is your call-out fee?"

Fraser answers from what you've written: "The call-out fee is $99, and the plumber quotes the job before starting." Write down how you want quotes handled and he sticks to it.

"I've got a burst pipe, water's going everywhere."

Fraser takes the details and the best number to call back, and the call summary is waiting on your Calls page. If someone is in danger, he tells them to call 000.

Want urgent calls put straight through to you? Turn on transfers. See Put callers through to a person.

"Do you come out to Frankston?"

Fraser answers from the suburbs you've listed. On the Intake questions tab, choose Plumber (or Electrician) under Starter questions, then Add these questions, and he also asks for the job address, whether it's urgent, the type of property and whether they own or rent. The answers show on the booking and in your emails. See Ask callers your own questions.

What to paste as your services

This is an example to edit. Change every service, time and price to yours. Type each service into its own row on the Services tab of the Agent page (Service name, Minutes, Price). Paste the rest into the box under What should it know? on the Knowledge tab.

EXAMPLE: change every name, time, price and suburb to yours

Services (one row each on the Services tab)
Call-out and quote 60 min $99
Blocked drain 90 min
Hot water service 90 min
Leaking tap or toilet 60 min
Gas appliance check 60 min

What it should know (paste into the Knowledge tab)
We're a family plumbing business in Brisbane's north.
We cover Chermside, Aspley, Kedron, Nundah and suburbs within 15 km of Chermside.
Hours: Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm. No weekend work.
Call-out fee is $99. The plumber quotes the job on site before starting. Never quote a price for a job over the phone.
We're licensed for gas fitting. We don't do roofing or new builds.

Leave Price empty on jobs you quote on site. Your agent won't make one up.

The divert pattern that suits you

On the tools you can't answer anyway, so most tradies divert every call during working hours. Fraser answers straight away, and nobody waits through 15 seconds of ringing. If someone's in the office, divert only the calls you don't answer instead.

If you turn on transfers, use a number that isn't diverted to Lightspire, such as a second mobile or the office line, so a transferred call doesn't come straight back to Fraser.

The codes for your carrier are in Divert your calls to Lightspire.
